The men who created Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Jason West and Vince Zampella, have announced they are creating a brand new studio. This will be created in partnership up with Activision’s arch rival publisher, EA. As a result of this there may be some delays in Modern Warfare 3. The pair are on the hunt for a new team to create the games we love to play.
It is well know news that the former of president and CEO of Modern Warfare 2 developer Infinity Ward, West and Zampella, were involved in a legal tussle and rumoured to be jumping ship, but it is now public knowledge. The new studio will be called Respawn Entertainment, which use EA’s Partners Program to distribute the new games. This will mean it remains independent and owns its own intellectual property. EA and Infinity Ward publisher Activision are massive rivals, and as Modern Warfare 2’s was the biggest for any game ever, it’s a massive coup for the publisher.
The announcement also makes no mention o Modern Warfare 3, but you can expect things to turn a little sour between the 2 parties.
Ye the pair are attempting to push the boundaries further, and if that is under the Modern Warfare brand or not, it is bound to be good for us gamers.
