Today according to Camping is the anniversary of the mass flood in which Noah built his ark in the Bible story. Camping’s claims even appeared to have developed some legitimacy, as many people purchased emergency kits and stocked up of food in case the worst happened. However, as I am writing this now, it seems we have survived at Camping was wrong.

Camping it appears was merely trying to raise his public profile, and encourage more people to listen to his radio show. What it in fact has shown is that he is a complete loony, preying on the innocent. I am sure there were people who did truly believe his so called “prophecies”, and Camping has exploited their vulnerability. He is a mere con artist.

This is just another apocalypse prediction that are occurring at more regular intervals in recent years. It must be a traumatic time for those who do in fact believe them. Personally I would rather not be made aware if the end of the world was nye. It would be a fairly depressing few days before hand!

We can now look forward to the Mayan predicted end of the world on December 21 2012. So it appears we have a year and a half left to live. Oh well, must make the best of ourselves then!

World’s largest chip manufacturer, Intel has just admitted on its release that there is a flaw in its 6 series Chipsets (code named, Cougar Point).

In its official web release, Intel said: “The chipset is utilized in PCs with Intel’s latest Second Generation Intel Core processors.  Intel has stopped shipment of the affected support chip from its factories. Intel has corrected the design issue, and has begun manufacturing a new version of the support chip which will resolve the issue. The Sandy Bridge microprocessor is unaffected and no other products are affected by this issue.”

According to several major manufacturers, customers are calling asking to return stock. Since large quantities of boards and systems have already been sold into the channel, systems builders are still waiting for official word from Intel on what to do.

Surprisingly, top management at companies like Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, etc., did not even hear about this issue, when everyone else found out!

Till date, Intel has manufactured around 8 million boards and shipped them to their distribution network. Before the flaw announced, it is yet unknown that how many customers have bought the boards. Intel has decided to recall all the boards and patch it with new version.

What Egyptian people can do is that they can leave a voicemail using a telephone and post is to #egypt on twitter. In this way, peoples with no internet connection can now express their tweets on twitter. The service can be retrieved by leaving a voicemail (which will be twitted automatically on #egypt) on the following phone nos: +16504194196, +390662207294, +97316199855, which can also be used to listen to the voice messages.

Here are some of the steps to install this game on Windows:

STEP 1: Download and install Intel AppUP computer: IntelAppUpcenter-windows-installer.exe. Its prerequisite is to have Adobe Air preinstalled.

According to PS3MFW.com, “The purpose of Project PS3MFW is the development of a customizable tool that creates modified firmware for PlayStation 3 with many great features not available in current solutions. It provides a framework where each firmware modification task is an independent plugin with access to an API that facilitates the modification process. One important feature is that the project will be entirely open source, as opposed to every other MFW released to date.”

Sony opposed it by strictly alerting the developers to stop all this illegal work. As of now, The PS3MFW Builder 0.1 tool which is an open source project is an application interface that has several check boxes to add features to the modified firmware.

We have seen such device, 3D Kinect for Microsoft XBOX Console, but Microsoft is fairly far away for its support for PC. However, Kinect hardware maker PrimeSense later released a set of drivers for PC-based Kinect, and Microsoft has promised XNA support for the device.

The official announcement on Sony’s Motion Controller for PC will be held by sponsored GDC session by SCEA’s senior developer support engineer John McCutchan on 2 March, which will include information about PlayStation Move development that refers to “the new Move Server project that will make it possible for academics and hobbyists to develop software using the PlayStation Move controller.”

Who knows that the future technologies like motion controller will replace mouse and keyboards?

A blogger, Rafael Rivera blogged at about a bug in Windows Phone 7 and discovered that yahoo is behind it.

The Yahoo mail is responsible for the Windows Phone 7 phantom bug.  It is one of the worst Windows Phone 7 bugs which caused WP7 devices to leak at least 30-50 MB of data daily, but Microsoft quickly found the source of the problem.

On January 20, Microsoft issued a statement in its press release: “We have determined that a third-party solution commonly accessed from Windows Phones is configured in a manner that potentially causes larger than expected data downloads.”

Earlier, Microsoft confirmed the bug and found that it has nothing to relate with WP7 and it was due to a third party developer, but didn’t publicize its name. Later, Microsoft announced that the Bug was instigated by Yahoo mail services on WP7.

The problem was in the Yahoo IMAP services (winmo.imap.mail.yahoo.com) that incorrectly synchronize data between Mail Server and client. Microsoft is working with Yahoo to roll out a fix in coming weeks.

“Tens of millions of people check their Yahoo! Mail from their mobile device each day and we know they want their mobile mail experience to be fast, rich, and real-time. While our default settings on all mobile platforms realize this approach, we have determined that inefficiency exists in the synchronization of email between Windows Phone Mail clients and Yahoo! Mail which can result in larger than expected data usage for some users. Microsoft and Yahoo! have worked together to identify a fix, which will be rolled out in the coming weeks. In the meantime, Windows Phone 7 customers can mitigate this issue by changing their settings to reduce the frequency of Yahoo! Mail updates. This does not impact any other phones, and we apologize for any inconvenience this is causing to users.”

Microsoft and Yahoo immediately announced a manual fix:

1. On the Start screen of Windows Phone 7, click on the arrow at the top right
2. Choose “Settings” from the app list
3. Choose “email & accounts”
4. Choose “Yahoo! Mail”
5. Click on the setting under “Download new content”
6. Select a less frequent setting. If you are using the default setting (every 2 hours), change this setting to ‘manually’
7. Click on the setting under “Download email from”
8. Select a shorter time range. If you are using the default setting (the last 2 weeks), change this setting to ‘the last 7 days’

The Medfield SoC is an Intel atom processor descendant and has a corroboration of memory controller, I/O mapping and multimedia function support on a single chip. As of now, two versions are likely to be announced – one that can handle standard graphics and one for high-end graphics.

The news also buzzes that the upcoming Nokia N9 might be equipped with a 1.2 Ghz Intel Atom processor and supports 4G LTE Network! This Medfield SoC may debut by the end of this year and devours a long way to go. May be this chip brings-out new rebellion to Mobile Families and we may get another foretaste of Mobile technology in future.

The phone is essentially same like the original LG optimus or LG Optimus S for Sprint users except the physical button placement below the big touchscreen on the face of the phone. The specifications are expected to be same as the original ones, having Android 2.2, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G, and all the usual Android goodness, like Google apps and more.
